Neil Fahy's program: acorns
Using existing grinding holes and substituting popcorn kernels for acorns, FoCM Naturalist Neil Fahy takes campers through the same steps used by native Miwoks to make acorn meal on the weeks he is in camp.
The FoCM Naturalists who are accepted for the program get a free tentsite in the "Volunteer Village" and meals for the naturalist. They may have family visit, who pay for their meals.
Interested in participating in the FoCM Volunteer Naturalist Program? Get in touch with the program coordinator, Lisa DiGirolamo,
or the back-up coordinator, Robin Sherrer. |
