AND...
did someone mention Claudia Reinhart, the Camp Manager, who juggles the demands, er, um, requests, of campers and staff and a city government budget to keep Mather well run, clean and in repair??? Thank her in person, if you're so inclined - she's doing a 24 / 7 job for 17 straight weeks!
Former FoCM Officers and Directors, Emeritus:
- The late Shirley Barisone, Founder of the original Friends of Camp Mather (established in 1983), teacher, SF police officer, Park and Rec playground director, native San Franciscan and a 73 year Mather camper. Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sewer of Mather curtains, Birch Lake water runs in her veins!
- Tony Patch, our late Vice President, late husband of Midge Lingvai, native San Franciscan, and a 60 year Mather Camper, was one of the five original 2002 FoCM Board members who signed the paperwork that turned the Friends of Camp Mather organization into a 501(c)3. He was a retired small business owner and sports official and was well known at City Hall and SFR+P where he advocated for Camp Mather.
- Robin Sherrer, President 2002-11, Director, re-founder of FoCM, established the FoCM 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation with former Treasurer, Sue Marshall; designed 5 years of t-shirts and hats; webmaster; founder of the Volunteer Leader, Naturalist and AiR programs; negotiated the General Store lease with Chris Mack of SFR+P; worked with Jake McGoldrick's office on the Camp Mather Anit-Privatization Resolution.
- Jette Swan, former Director
- Jane Lehman, former Director
- Susan Marshall, former Treasurer and Co-re-founder of the FoCM 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation
- Mark Hawthorne, former Director twice!
Many thanks to our Volunteer Leaders, Naturalists + Artists-in-Residence
2004 was the first year for our Volunteer Leader Program, and the stellar volunteers who have come forward and been chosen to run the fundraising program up at camp have given up personal time to come to monthly FoCM meetings and special training - not to mention the time that is donated while at camp. These people are available before the week that they serve (links to their emails below) to coordinate camper volunteer efforts for their week at camp. In return for their guaranteed reservations, your VL's also give up personal vacation time at camp. If you are interested in the Volunteer Leader program for Summer click here. Let's thank -
