VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
GUARANTEED SUMMER RESERVATIONS for FRIENDS of CAMP MATHER VOLUNTEER LEADERS
WE WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE YOUR VOLUNTEER APPLICATION via email to friendsofmather@gmail.com. You can either attach your application or include it in the body of your email. You may send your application to 422 Russia, SF 94112.
You are applying to be a volunteer leader at Camp Mather in exchange for a guaranteed reservation (this is NOT a free week). The FoCM Board chooses volunteers based on past Camp Mather volunteerism, number of FoCM Board Meetings that you are able to attend, skills, summer schedule and abilities.
We are also seeking Volunteer Leaders for the Spring and Fall Strawberry Festivals at Camp.
To qualify, all volunteers will be required to:
- attend board meetings to get an idea of what FoCM is working on in order to disseminate this information at camp, and to meet with Claudia Reinhart, Camp Manager
- attend a special Volunteer training that addresses speaking at the campfire, talent show and raffle and the logistics of selling and money management at CM; 2 dates will be offered. This training is open to all interested volunteers.
- have name, emails, and phone # posted on the website to enable camper contact
- have their camper applications to SF Rec + Park by the deadline, with the required deposit, and follow all SF Rec + Park application directions
- pay for their week at camp - all rules and fees apply – this is a guaranteed reservation in exchange for your participation as an FoCM Leader
- reside in the San Francisco Bay area
During the week at camp the Volunteer Leader is responsible for:
- speaking at the campfire to encourage volunteer participation
- staffing or selling at the dinner line Monday – Friday; the volunteer family is invited to eat dinner early each evening with the staff
- staffing or selling at the Sunday evening “Get Ready For Tie-Dye Event” and staffing or selling
- at the two tie-dye events
- staffing or selling at the dance before the raffle drawing
- speaking at a Talent Show(s)
- preparation and bookkeeping, responsibility for products, tickets and money – and setting up
- volunteers with merchandise and tickets, financial responsibility for FoCM monies

This is real responsibility that we are asking you to take on in exchange for your guaranteed reservation. Camp Mather is facing some harsh financial realities, and FoCM is working to keep our camp a nice place for San Francisco families. Please help if you can. We would be happy to have you participate.
