PRE-CAMP WORK PARTY REPORTS - with many thanks to our intrepid volunteers!
THANKS + KUDOS (in no particular order) TO ~
Many thanks to camper, George Krucik, for reserving this url, www.campmather.com for Friends of Camp Mather.
Artist Laura Golly donated a wonderful design and logo for FoCM. Many thanks to Laura for her generous contribution to FoCM.
Thanks to ALL OF YOU who participate in the SUMMER  RAFFLES and who buy the FoCM tshirts and other goodies. We raised over $14,000 in '02 (raffle ticketsonly), $18,000 (including thirt sales) in '03, $20,000 in '04, $28,000 in '05, $32,000 in '06, and the success is continuing, $40,000 in '07, $60,000 in '08- for picnic tables, art supplies, staff t-shirts, mattresses, chairs, bulletin boards, ping pong tables, wristbands, staff shirts and more!!!
Artist, Adrian Schafgans, painted some luminous oil landscapes of the area around Camp Mather and donated one wonderful painting of the road to Hetch-Hetchy (painted 2 consecutive mornings in July 2002 at around at 10am) to Camp Mather. It has been installed in the Dining Hall over the tray area. If you are interested in contacting him, click here.
Robin Sherrer, created the Camp Mather website and creates the designs for the FoCM tshirts and hats. She  also donated her creations of original jewelry to the Summer '02 and '03 Weekly Raffles, was the hawker of raffle tickets nightly in front of the Dining Hall at dinner time, and assisted with tie-dye, book-making, and other activies at camp. Cheers, dear!
Videographer, Japji Khalsa, wrote and filmed the short movie, Mather Magic, starring Teddy the Tadpole and Mather kids. It was greatly enjoyed by all who attended movie nights last summer. He  donated copies that were sold to benefit FoCM. Japji also created the panorama photographs of Carlon Falls and Birch Lake that were on view at the Dining Hall check-in booth. Japji has also donated panoramas to FoCM to sell.
Yoga instructor and massage therapist, Dharam Kaur Khalsa, led yoga classes on the Birch Lake lawn for the week that she and her family were at camp - for several summers. They were very well attended and enjoyed by adults and even some kids!
Thanks to AnneMarie and company at the Mather Desk at Park + Rec who remain patient in the face of mounting numbers of applications. Linda Griffin retired in 2004 - we wish her the best!
THANKS to Shirley Barisone for co-founding and maintaining Friends of Camp Mather. She and her volunteers have sewn acres of curtains for the Mather cabins and are responsible for the green chairs by the pool, the tables and chairs on the store deck, the mats in the the showers, and much more!

Shirley's Seamstresses 2004:

Camper, Adam Weiss, gave permission for FoCM to use his photos on the website and as postcards, which have SOLD OUT! That's his photograph of Upper Carlon Falls on Day Trips, and the lounging at the Lake photo on the Packing List page!
AND... did someone mention Claudia Reinhart, the Camp Manager, who juggles the demands, er, um, requests, of campers and staff and a city government budget to keep Mather well run, clean and in repair??? Thank her in person, if you're so inclined - she's doing a 24 / 7 job for 17 straight weeks!
birch lake - birches!
Sue Marshall and Jane Lehman digitized their family's charming and comprehensive vacation pictures for our Photo Album page.
Many many thanks to volunteers Nancy Van Gelder and Deborah Hicks who put together a wine-tasting fundraiser on the lawn for the lucky campers who were there the weeks Nancy + Deborah were there Summers '03 + '04!! Nancy is a Raffle Winner from Summer '02 - and she also leads water aerobics during her week at camp each summer. Thanks to Mike, the ever-popular Chef of Camp Mather, for providing the finger food.

MANY THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEER LEADERS + NATURALISTS ~
2005 was the first year for our Volunteer Leader Program, and the stellar volunteers who have come forward and been chosen to run the fundraising program up at camp have given up personal time to come to monthly FoCM meetings and special training  - not to mention the time that is donated while at camp. These people are available before the week that they serve (links to their emails below) to coordinate camper volunteer efforts for their week at camp. In return for their guaranteed reservations, your VL's also give up personal vacation time at camp. If you are interested in the Volunteer Leader program for Summer click here. Let's thank -

L O T T E R Y
The new SFR+P General Manager, Phil Ginsburg, gave  the Commissioner's Cabin to FoCM for a fund-raiser for the week of July 18, 2009.
It was a last minute opportunity; we hope to be able to do this again, with more lead time to get the word out. YAYYYYY!
