Memorable campers ~
Come on into the e-Cabin -there is a WEB POLLon how to spend the $$ we raised, a GUEST BOOK for memories, rumors, shared info, finding fellow campers, suggestions and questions
Socorro Litehiser - Friend of Camp Mather, camper and beloved volunteer. Socorro and Joe Litehiser were among the first "spring clean-up" volunteers - and she continued to work and contribute to the Mather she loved until the very end. We are priviledged to have known her. Friends and family of Socorro's donated to FoCM after her passing, and her husband, Joe, made a very generous matching donation. Thank you for all your time, work and good humor, Socorro, we will always remember your smile.
Frances McAteer - sfgate article here; she was an SFR+P Commissioner, and is lovingly remembered, especially by all of the children she took under her wing. Nothing was too much for her to take on. McAteer High School is named after her late husband, the Senator. She is fondly remembered in an October 3, 2006 blog entry here. Friends and family of Frances McAteer made donations in her name to FoCM at her passing. She is remembered for her generosity and gentility of spirit.
Jack Spring - sfgate article here. Friends of Jack Spring made donations to FoCM in his memory at his passing. The Jack Spring Dining Hall is named after this great Friend of Camp Mather, and his son, Paul Spring is the onsite Mather caretaker all year long. Some of you may know Paul, he is the local expert on all things Mather, and the key to many "secret" trail locations.
Lorraine Madonich loved Camp Mather barn dances, being a San Francisco City Guide, leading tours for the San Bruno Senior Center, Balboa High School reunions, traveling around the world, cruises, Sterns Grove, Petaluma, and parades held in San Bruno. Friends and family of Lorraine Madonich made donations in her name to FoCM at her passing. She is dearly remembered here.
