*Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life." ~John Muir

CAMP MATHER CLEAN-UP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

Please email Claudia at mathermanager@hotmail.com re: Volunteer Spring 2009 and Volunteer Fall 2009.
You can learn about the online process at http://www.sfgov.org/site/sfdhr_page.asp?id=46205  There is a lot of information on this page that you will need in order to apply for a job.  Please check it out and learn the process.

It is very important that you read the Job Announcement carefully as it will tell you what information you must submit to qualify for the position.

You can practice submitting an application at http://www.jobaps.com/sf/sup/images/default.asp
When you do this practice application, you will also be setting up your account.  Record your user name and password so that you can later retrieve your saved work.  You can save your applications on the website, reopen them and edit them.  Once you fill out one application, you can copy and paste the information into another application and then modify it before you submit it. Be sure you know the application deadline dates of any jobs you are applying for.  Take your time when filling out job applications.  Read all of the prompts.  Prior to submitting your application, you will be prompted to print it.  Return to this page when you want to view or use your applications: click the box at the top of the page that says My Applications.

After you submit your application by pressing the send button, you will receive an email confirmation that the city received your application.

You can request an email notification for all jobs you are interested in.
For example, to be notified about the 3264 Camp Assistant position at Camp Mather, go to: http://www.jobaps.com/SF/specs/classspecdisplay.asp?ClassNumber=3264

Some jobs require you submit other forms or documents; be sure you complete all the requirements.
You’ll need several things to apply for any city job:

Next Steps: A screening committee will screen the qualified applications and hopefully you’ll be invited to an interview.  Good Luck!
