The Mather Bug -
A common gastro-intestinal bug, the Noro virus, made its way up to camp the first week of this summer. Our littlest campers are the most likely to pick it up and share it with their families. This is a common bug that  usually shows up in shool and preschool. YOU CAN HELP STOP THE SPREAD OF THE BUG WITH DILIGENT HAND WASHING AND HAND WIPING. Please bring lots of "diaper wipes" with you, especially in convenient carry-packs, as their constant use will greatly decrease your exposure to this nuisance!
*NOTE ~ those who become ill will continue to shed the active virus for up to a week after their recovery.

BY THE WAY ~
Do take some time with your children before you get up to Camp to teach them how to avoid picking up and spreading germs/viruses:

Cover mouth with hand or crook of elbow for coughing/sneezing, then wash or wipe hands

Wash hands and face often

Don't share candy or drinks with friends

There is a nurse or doctor on staff every week of the summer, so help is at hand if you do need medical help. In case of gastro-intestinal illness/mess in your cabin or anywhere on the camp grounds, let someone in the office know as there are disinfecting procedures that will be taken.

Babies in diapers must wear plastic covers, especially in the lagoon, lawn and pool areas. No naked babies are allowed. No exceptions.

Thanks in advance for helping to keep Mather fun!!

Summer 2003 has seen an increase in BEAR ACTIVITY- be prepared with extra vigilance regarding food, drinks and trash!
